COACHES' RESPONSIBILITY

 

• Conduct a parent meeting (at the beginning of the season) in which parents and players will be given information to go over the schedule information, eligibility requirements, transportation issues, concussion information etc.

 

• Monitor student-athletes conduct and academic progress.

 

• Complete concussion education requirements for coaching staff, student-athletes and parents.

 

• All athletes have a completed Athlete Health Record and Concussion Form on file at the school before they can participate in practice, try-outs, or a compete in a match.

 

• Keep copies of athlete’s health records at all practices  and matches.

 

• Discuss Secondary Insurance payments with with your Athletic Director.

 

• Have a basic first aid kit, injury ice bags, athlete’s health record, and water at each practice and  match.

 

• Submit tennis schedule and student-athlete eligibility  online to the TSSAA by deadline...also submit a copy to the SCIAA office.

 

• Complete annual education training and forms required by SCIAA.

 

• Keep school staff informed of any dates where players will be absent from school for tournaments or dismissed early for matches.

 

• Provide 5 new, unopened cans of tennis balls (tournament quality: Penn, Wilson, Dunlop) for every match.

 

• Display proper conduct and professionalism and demand that from your athletes as well.

 

• Keep match scores at every match at every match and keep them throughout the entire season as they will be needed during tournament seeding.

 

• The coach of the winning team will submit scores online via this link...to Tennis Director, Kelli Arena by noon the following business day.

 

• Also report scores to the Commercial Appeal Sports Desk the same evening as the match/tournament.
