ALL TSSAA RULES AND REGULATIONS WILL BE ENFORCED DURING THE TOURNAMENT.  BE SURE YOU AND YOUR PLAYERS KNOW ALL OF THE RULES ESPECIALLY IN REGARD TO BEING LATE, UNIFORMS, ETIQUETTE, WARM UP TIMES, ETC.

*AAA and A-AA play separate tournaments and compete only against players in their district.

SINGLES and DOUBLES TOURNAMENT FORMAT

 

  • Each school submits ONE singles player AND ONE doubles team for both boys and girls.  

​

  • Coaches may also list up to 2 alternate players/doubles teams as substitutions in the event the original players do not show up or are unable to play.

​

  • Players MAY compete in BOTH singles and doubles.

​

  •   The top 4 players (based on season results) will be seeded and the remaining players will be seeded based on random draw.

​

  • Coaches can submit two alternate players.

  • *An alternate player may be substituted if your original player cannot play.  If the alternate player is substituting for a player seeded in the top 4, the alternate will move to the last seed of the draw and other players will move up a seed.

  • Coaches must submit their tournament entrance forms by Friday, April 14th to              Ms. Blake by email       myersblakek@scsk12.org

  • All matches are 2 out of 3 sets, no ad scoring

​

  • Each Player or doubles team from each school will take 1 new, unopened can of tennis balls to the court.  Only one can is opened at the court.  The winning team will take the new, unopened can back to their coach and the losing team will take the used tennis balls back to their coach.  â€‹

  • The winning player/team must report to their coach and the tournament director with the match scores immediately following the match.​

​

  • Champions will receive individual medals.  Please be sure to get your photo made by the tournament director following your match!

* TEAM TOURNAMENT FORMAT

 

  • If the singles champion and doubles champions are from the SAME school, that school is declared the team winner.

​

  • If the singles champion and doubles champions are from DIFFERENT schools, those two schools will compete for the TEAM championship.

​

  • If a TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP is played. The format is...

      5 singles and 2 doubles 

      2 out of 3 sets

      No ad scoring

​

  • All players must be listed and play in order of ability.

​

  • Each Player or doubles team from each school will take 1 new, unopened can of tennis balls to the court.  Only one can is opened at the court.  The winning team will take the new, unopened can back to their coach and the losing team will take the used tennis balls back to their coach.

  • The winning player/team must report to their coach and the tournament director with the match scores immediately following the match.

  • The team champions will receive a plaque.  We ask that the players on the championship team get a team photo made by the tournament director following the match!

SCIAA COUNTY TOURNAMENT 2017

DATES:  APRIL 18  (SINGLES)     APRIL 20  (DOUBLES)    APRIL 24   (TEAM)

TSSAA DISTRICT, REGIONAL, SECTIONALS

AND STATE TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

 

You must submit TSSAA Tournament Entrance Forms to the SCIAA and TSSAA offices,

as well as the tournament director at least 5 days before the tournament date.

TSSAA DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

 

INDIVIDUAL TOURNAMENT:  Must be completed by May 11

                                                    2 SINGLES AND 2 DOUBLES - A PLAYER CANNOT PLAY BOTH

 

TEAM TOURNAMENT:   Must be completed by May 7 (Girls) and May 8 (Boys)

                                        EACH DISTRICT WILL DETERMINE A TEAM CHAMPION BY ANY METHOD THE DISTRICT

                                        MEMBERSHIP SELECTS

                                        (Example:  Team with the best record in league play OR the top two teams in league play will go head to head in a 5 Singles, 

                                        2 doubles format, etc.)                              

                                        

                                      * TO PLAY IN TEAM COMPETITION A PLAYER MUST HAVE PLAYED IN AT LEAST ONE
